Grants Program

In 2007, the council initiated a grants program to provide funds for education, interpretation, and marketing of the Civil War in North Carolina.  Grants are restricted to Civil War-related programs only.  Qualified applicants include communities, Not-For-Profit Tourism Development Organizations, and Non-profit 501 (c) (3) organizations.  The grant cycle runs once per year.  Applications are reviewed by two Council members and one outside member.  Grant amounts of up to $500 will be made available through a judged application process.  Organizations applying for grants will be required to provide matching (1:1) funds.  Guidelines for the grant program will be established by the inaugural review panel and approved by the Council prior to any grants being awarded. The Council reserves the right to consider amendments to grant guidelines at any time.
